When it wasn't raining, last week, I took this picture of four doggies waiting for their walker, sprawled out on the sidewalk. Reminded me of Ashley's crazy collection of NYC dog photos—he has taken a ton over the years.

Yesterday I posted on Martha's thecraftsdept blog how to make this kooky eyeball t-shirt. You may think it is too early for Halloween, but I wear my eyeball tee all year round! Check it out, it's easy to make and will catch a lot of eyes ;)

SKULLS.

I'm not exactly sure when skulls became so trendy, but they are beginning to haunt me. They are everywhere... really everywhere... it's overwhelming.

Designboom wrote a pedantic post about the history of death's head symbol. I prefer the use of the skull when it has meaning over it just being a statement of "cool".

We've gone skull crazy—bedeviled head-cases infatuated with ourselves. It seems so narcissistic of us? wait... what ... we are.

cardboard frame

Was perusing through The Selby and discovered this frame made completely out of cardboard. It's ridiculously amazing & I want to make one.

Beautiful Emmanuelle

Watched Roman Polanski's 1988 film Frantic. The movie stars Harrison Ford with the young and cunning Emmanuelle Seigner as his sidekick. Besides the actress having a bad ass 80's style—I was intrigued by the unfamiliar french face and decided to do a bit of googling (since it is so convenient to, when you are watching Netflix from your laptop).

Turns out she is Polanski's wife (among other things)!—where have I been? and how does Roman score such hotties?

My "Emmanuelle" Internet search made me discover another french starlet I hadn't thought about in probably two decades...remember the 1987 movie Date with an Angel?... yeah well I was pretty fascinated with "the angel" when I was a kid and wound up rediscovered her via Google and my fascination continues with Emmanuelle Béart.

Is there another beautiful Emmanuelle that I don't know about? 

I got nothing.

except a picture of my reflection in a mirror at Martha's—was up there for a visit.

Obsessed with the colors of lacinato kale and collard greens fresh from the garden. Freakishly obsessed.

A couple Saturday afternoons back, Melissa and I got bored and decided to ride bikes to the Chelsea flea market. I like to stop by once in a while to buy things I don't need. This time was epic though and I scored 7 sailboats for just 15 bucks! The guy said he buys lots from abandon storage units and this must have been someone's old collection. I was thrilled to have landed it, even though I don't need anymore "things" in my life.

Two are almost entirely made of shells.

My favorite is this simple Sloop style sailboat with the single mast and double sails. I might trust it to take Pico for a ride in that little boat pond in Central Park. She would probably capsize though—she might be a pirate but she is no experienced sailor.

I decided to drop the collection off at work since it is so close to the Chelsea flea and wound up keeping the ships there to display and admire. Hosanna got excited too about my showcase and left an awesome ship silhouette on my desk that she had from her silhouette collection. I like it better than most of my boats!

The collection I bought at the Chelsea flea swayed me to pick up the $10 ship I found at the Stormville—which is the biggest of the bunch and now my absolute favorite. It's labeled "Flying Cloud" and sits on a box with a slit for coins.

It's strange how, when you start to collect something, or become interested in something, you start to see it everywhere. I am so frequently stumbling upon ships now and I love it!

Ann Wood makes the most charming, whimsical ships out of paper-mache and vintage fabric.

This colorful little boat I noticed on Kris's color stripes blog. I love how it's painted and the use of the nails and tacks in the wood.

I couldn't resist sharing these walnut ships that Hip Hip Hooray posted. So freaking cute!
